Chicago was my first introduction to The United States. All I can remember, was a light-windy day and still pretty cool in July, those magnificient views of an open sky over Lake of Michigan, a lot of tall buildings with escalators.... glass windows & doors, the image of people there and the taste of American's food.
Imagine, a young person from The land of striking green and gold colors of the rice fields, a true nature of land with lots of tall palm trees and lotus blossoms or real drinking water is rain water.
Extremely contrast or different experience is what I would describe my first meeting with Chicago. Shocking? I was speechless.
Thanks for updating my memory of America from some 20 years ago. I like to go back to revisiting it someday. Very very Different, but it was a very positive change. It's good.
Great shots! The diamond-shaped building is my favorite of all --it's mine okay?! Yes, it was worth the wait --45 minutes was the longest line I ever had and yet it was a great chilling experience. Man, I love the anacoda scene. I don't mind returning for their details.
I was going to say: "Please put me back on the plane! I want to go home!" But, there was no home. Now, looking back thru all though dangerous times traveling 10,000 miles away from there and thru the jungle of Khmer-Thai's border with no food or water, land mine, and thieves left and right, I thought I was kidding myself. I'm staying. Anyway, Paris.France was our first glimpse and break to The West before we got to Chicago. Thanks for reading & Happy Khmer New Year to you & your family Tom!!!
